These last few years have been such a whirl wind, I have had so many ups and downs but have never felt so proud about opening up New Image Fitness and how it’s taken off since then. I was your average person who was on a new diet every second week. I was always quite slim when younger but then in my late teenage years started to gain weight and just couldn’t shift it. I tried every diet going and as a result my weight yo-yoed a lot. I studied Business and Entrepreneurship in college and received my honors degree after 4 years. During that time, I was at my heaviest due to college lifestyle and never being consistent when trying to stick to a new fad diet.
After college I fell pregnant and gained almost 4 stone. I was completely taken back at how my body had changed so much. This is when I went to a personal trainer and decided to try a new outlook of training, weights! But these are going to make me bulky? I need to lose weight before I can start training with weights? I don’t want to be too muscly! How wrong was I?! Within the first four weeks, I was hooked in every aspect. I was always one for cardio and never ventured past the treadmills, but my love for weight training just excelled more and more due to seeing how my body composition changed completely. After two years of training and eating well, I loved how it made me, not only look, but feel. That’s when I decided to mesh my love of fitness with my degree and take my next step towards educating myself in the fitness industry to set up my own business. Fast forward to today and I have never looked back, currently, I and two other expert trainers are looking after the studio and helping clients achieve their fitness goals. Not only do we have a fantastic clientele that keeps growing but being able to help people become stronger, leaner, lighter, healthier, and happier is the best reward. To say this line of work is satisfying is an understatement, I hope we have continued success in the future.
